June 19th Update

Hello Parents and Guardians

I hope this finds you well and that you have found ways to keep cool during these recent heat waves. This past week has been very emotional for all of us as we packed up student items and had to wish our grade 6’s Best Wishes from a distance. Definitely not the way we would have liked to have ended this school year. I am so proud of the virtual  Leaving Ceremony that Mrs Ozimierski, Mrs Endicott and Mme Clermont  put together for their students and families. The information that the teachers shared about each child and highlighting the Global Competency that they strongly exhibited this year, was as emotional for the teachers as I am sure it was for the students and parents. Those future leaders will be missed next year but we know they are moving onto bigger and better things, spreading their wings to explore what’s next! Our current grade 5’s have big shoes to fill but we know they have been watching carefully and will bring their own flair to the role next year.

Some parents have asked about access to various tools on the student portal over the summer.

Tools such as GSuite (e.g., Google Drive, Docs, gMail, etc) and WeVideo, Book Creator, Pear deck, that are OCSB subscription based, would be unaffected so the students should have access throughout the summer months.

In terms of student access to software that is tied to specific teachers/classes (e.g., Raz Kids, Mathletics, Zorbits, etc), these are available for the month of July.

We hope you have managed to sign up for the Parent Portal as this will be how you will be able to access your child’s report card. You should have received information on how to sign up from the school board directly. If you have not done so, please go to this link and follow the steps.

Enjoy the weekend! Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads out there!!
