IMPORTANT: New Policy for Volunteers Working in our Schools

Beginning September 2018, the majority of volunteers working with students in the OCSB must complete a vulnerable sector check. This includes parents and other volunteers taking part in field trips, those working with students in schools, and those volunteering at events where they may be in isolation with students even for a brief period of time (eg., meeting in a small office area to distribute food/beverages).

Anyone over 18 who wishes to take part in a volunteer opportunity in a school must complete a Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Check.

This vulnerable sector check can be attained online for free with a letter from the school. You can get a copy of the letter to upload with your application by accessing right here: St. George Volunteer Letter.

There is a fee for same day service so it would be wise to get this done as soon as possible so that you will be able to volunteer when school begins.

The front office at St. George will keep a list of parents that are cleared to volunteer within our school.

Make sure to then send it into the office for our records.
