School Council Meeting this Tuesday!
Our first School Council meeting for this school year is next Tuesday, Sept 21st at 6:30pm. Please email the council firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like the link to the meeting. Weather permitting, and depending on numbers who want to attend, we would like to attempt having this first meeting outside in our courtyard. Please come to the gate near the Keyworth entrance! Please do the COVID-19 self screening that we use for school before joining us in person. If the weather is looking iffy, we will be virtual. We will have a computer set up for those who prefer joining virtually.
Fidget toys/cards… please keep at home… We are not responsible for lost items at school. Due to COVID- 19 students should not be sharing items from home, we provide many items for the classes to play with at recess.
Fidget TOOLS, should not be distrating to others. If you are unsure or have questions about an item that you have provided for your child to use as a fidget tool, please contact the teacher. There are many things on the market that are not necessarily classroom friendly. Thank you for your support with this!
Please continue to check the OSTA website for bus cancellations.
Hello School Community
It has been wonderful getting to know our students once more IRL (“in real life” for those of you who don’t speak teenager :-) The students and staff seem happy to be back to routines and seeing friends, working on projects together and just coming together as a school community!
I have a few bits of information to share with you at this time.
We had an impromptu fire drill on Tuesday after one of our fire alarms was pulled by accident. We continue to work with our little ones in understanding the reason for those alarms on the wall. Our school community did an amazing job, getting out of the school safely and in a timely fashion.

BIG SHOUT OUT! Two of our very own Dragons, Miriam and Vera Ozon-Wells made a difference for many this summer. They wrote to Mr. Leiper about the walking signal at Carleton and Scott Street. They found the signal too short. Their letters were successful and the walking signal is now longer! So, if your child is one of the walkers that uses that intersection, they have these little #sgeochangemakers to thank for making their crossing a little safer.
OSTA has cancelled a number of school bus routes. Please review your child’s information on the Parent Portal and then check the posted lists to confirm the route’s status. The list will be updated daily with any morning cancellations.
At the moment our Blue bus E150 has been cancelled indefinitely.
